Quennie insisted that we visit the Malipano Island on our second day at Pearl Farm Davao. I would agree. If you are going to Pearl Farm on a day tour, never miss to visit Malipano Island. It’s worth the stop.
Malipano Island is just a short boat ride the Parola. A strong swimmer can even just swim to this island. Maybe I’ll do that on my next visit. The speed boat to Malipano Island leaves the Parolo Bar every 30 minutes starting at 9:00 AM. Simply visit the staff at Parola Bar to book you for the next trip to the island.
DADDY TIP: Visit the Parola Bar 10-15 minutes before your planned time to the island. If you plan to ride on the 11:00 trip, be there as early as 10:45 for the booking.
Taking a boat ride to Malipano Island
You’ll be walking in this floating bridge to get to the island
A wide sand bar at the Malipano Pavilion
The island is much more scenic with lots of interesting areas to take photots. You will arrive at the Malipano Pavilion. It’s nearest to the beach which I find more condusive for swimming compared to the one at the main resort. But don’t just stay at the pavilion, take a walk to the other side where the Malipano Villas are located.
Walking on white sand
Walking on green grass
A great view of the beach at the Villas
The walk will just take a few minutes. When you reach the other side, it’s like discovering a hidden paradie island. The villas looks beautiful. The beach was so blue and it was very tempting to take a plunge. What I love about the place is how peaceful it was. There was a duyan or hammock in one of the sheds. If we were not tight on time, I would have chosen to take a whole afternoon of siesta here.
DADDY TIP: Bring your slippers while walking in the island. The sand can be hot during noon time to walk on it with your bare feet.
Malipano Villas
Clean and clear blue beach
Taking a break at the shed
Gab on a “duyan”
The villa beach was not as good at the one at the pavilion. But the shallow portion was wider and this is safer for the kids to swim. The beach at the pavilion had finer sand but the shallow portion is just for a few meters. The beach quickly gets steep and deep.
The view at the pavilion is more interesting though. The main resort can be view from here with the Parola and the Samal Houses standing proudly above the waters.
DADDY TIP: Travel light. You just need your swimming stuff here. Don’t bring too many things with you in the small boat.
One on one with Gab
Time to take a plunge
Gab touches a starfish for the first time
We had to collect several more starfishes
Our stay at Malipano Island was just a quick one. Just about 30 minutes to take pictures and to collect starfish for Gab to look at. If you can spare more time, an afternoon siesta at this island will be perfect. It’s the most peaceful and relaxing getaway at Pearl Farm Resort.
Perfect place to relax
